Serverless containers on Azure without managing Kubernetes

Official documentation (opens in a new tab)

Overview

Azure Container Apps hosts containerized .NET 10 and ASP.NET Core workloads with KEDA-based scale, ingress, and Dapr optional integrations—without operating a full Kubernetes control plane.

ConnectSoft Factory and SaaS programs use Container Apps alongside Azure Container Registry for microservices that need fast scale-to-zero or moderate complexity—reserving AKS for teams that require full Kubernetes APIs and cluster customization.

Deployments tie into Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, secrets in Azure Key Vault, and telemetry through Application Insights and OpenTelemetry.

If you want containers on Azure without a large platform team, Container Apps is often the fastest managed path—we implement it with the same Bicep and identity patterns as the rest of your estate.

Why we use it:

  • KEDA autoscaling for HTTP and queue-driven workloads
  • Images from Azure Container Registry with managed identity pull
  • Integrated ingress, TLS, and revision management
  • Factory alternative to self-managed AKS for many microservices
  • Secrets from Key Vault—not baked into images
  • Observability via Application Insights
  • Environment separation (dev/stage/prod) in IaC
