Capacitor extending your Azure API platform

Official documentation (opens in a new tab)

Overview

Capacitor wraps web frontends as native iOS and Android apps—an alternative to .NET MAUI when teams ship Angular or SPA code in store binaries.

.NET MAUI and complementary mobile paths share C# logic, Serilog, OpenTelemetry, and secure token flows with ASP.NET Core APIs hosted on Azure.

When store policies or legacy shells require alternatives like Capacitor, we keep API contracts and release pipelines unified with the server platform.

Companion apps should inherit the same reliability as your cloud backend—we design mobile delivery as part of the platform, not an orphan codebase.

Why we use it:

  • Plugin versions aligned per platform
  • Secure storage for tokens
  • App store signing pipelines
  • OTA update policy documented
  • Shared authentication with Microsoft Entra and OpenIddict patterns
  • Consistent telemetry with server-side OpenTelemetry
  • Store-ready packaging through automated pipelines
