High-throughput event streaming on Azure

Official documentation (opens in a new tab)

Overview

Azure Event Hubs is a managed streaming platform for high-volume telemetry, IoT ingestion, and log pipelines—often upstream of Azure Stream Analytics, lake landing zones, or .NET consumer services.

ConnectSoft Factory defaults to MassTransit with Azure Service Bus for enterprise messaging between microservices. We adopt Event Hubs when throughput, partition scaling, or Kafka-compatible consumers are already mandated in the client estate or analytics program.

Processors run as Azure Functions, ASP.NET Core workers, or stream jobs with checkpointing, dead-letter handling, and OpenTelemetry export to Application Insights.

When your architecture needs a firehose into Azure data platforms, we design Event Hubs paths that stay operable—not a one-off script without ownership.

Why we use it:

  • Partitioning and throughput units sized per workload
  • Consumer groups and checkpoint discipline documented
  • Complements Service Bus for service-to-service messaging
  • Managed identities for producers and consumers
  • Retention and capture policies aligned to compliance
  • Observability via Application Insights and Azure Monitor
  • Clear handoff to data factory or warehouse pipelines
